Description
1977 Fender Precision Bass guitar in original condition and in the rare blonde finish with a maple neck. The basses blonde finish has aged to a nice cream colour over the years and under stage lights has that great vintage Precision Bass look. The neck is made from a very hard maple and the body is made from ash. I have always favored ash for my bass guitars for one simple reason; due to the wood density it has better sustain characteristics. The combination of these factors and the fact that this bass is super light makes this bass is one of the most resonant Fender Precision Basses that I have ever owned. This bass has a weight of just 7.98.lbs which makes it a joy to play on long gigs or on a 4 hour rehearsal.
The maple neck has no unplayable chips or dings in the neck and the skunk stripe has never lifted. The frets show minimal wear and are in perfect condition and the neck is straight with a very low fast action and is very comfortable to play. The neck has the classic C profile, the width at the nut is 1 .65 inches and at the 12th fret its: 2.2 inches. This bass has been very well cared for by me and the previous owner. The body does have wear that is normal for a 39 year old instrument. At the bottom of the basses body it has some chips on the bottom edge and one very small patch of wear on the rear of the bass which can be seen in the photographs. This is my favorite Fender Precision Bass hence I have always called this my number One. Sound wise this has that bright and punchy Precision Bass sound. The bass comes with the original black Fender case.
