Description
1977 Fender Jazz Bass in original natural finish with rosewood neck and a black guard. The finish on this bass has aged to a nice golden colour and only has slight lacquer checking on the body. This provides a deep rich vintage colour that looks stunning close up. This colour is best described as a rich honeycomb colour which looks excellent under stage lighting. The body is made from a beautiful piece of straight grained ash. I have always favoured ash for my bass guitars for one simple reason; due to the wood density it has better sustain characteristics. The bass is also super light, weighing just 9.14.lbs which makes it a joy to play on long gigs. The rosewood neck has no unplayable chips or dings in the neck and the skunk stripe has never lifted. The neck has one tiny lacquer chip which is shown in picture 7. The frets show minimal wear and are in perfect condition. The neck is straight with a very low fast action and is very comfortable to play.
This bass is one of the most resonant Fender Jazz Basses that I have ever owned and sound wise this is a real killer. This bass has stacks of classic Fender growl, with both pickups on and tone turned up full. This bass really sings and has plenty of top end sparkle, the mids punch through and the bottom end is really tight. I have used this bass mainly for Motown and Rock and Blues influenced songs .The original bridge cover still has the foam padding intact which makes it ideal to use to deaden the strings. This bass has all the depth and tone to cut thought even the most dence mix . With this Jazz Bass you have a superb Rock and RB tone with the neck pick up backed off slightly. If you select just the bridge pick up then this Jazz Bass it has all the Jaco tone. This is a super light , super playing Fender Jazz Bass that will make any collector or bass player smile. The bass comes with the original black Fender case.
