Description
2001 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold top 30th Anniversary Limited Edition guitar which is a reissue of the famous 1969 Les Paul Deluxe.
The guitar was made in Gibson Nashville factory in the USA in 2001 and was a limited edition model that was made to the same specifications as the 1969 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. This guitar is a proper guitar, no chambered body or poor quality laminated fret boards that we have seen Gibson use on some recent models. This was the first run of the 69 Reissues made between 1999 & 2001 and is finished in the extra cost gold top finish. This Limited edition 30th Anniversary Les Paul’s Deluxe is made from selected mahogany for the body which is finished in a gorgeous Gold top finish. This finish has now starting to age nicely giving it that classic vintage vibe.
The neck of the Special Anniversary Limited Edition is also made of mahogany, which Gibson selected for this model. The neck is slender and tapered and is made identically to the dimensions of original 1969 Les Paul Deluxe. This fits easily in the hand and for me is immensely playable. The neck has white binding and is a plays as fast as lightning with virtually no fret wear. The guitar is made from selected mahogany ans so is light, weighing just 9.48lbs. On the rear of the headstock Gibson has put the limited edition decal on the rear. The tuning pegs are chrome Kluson with the green peg ends.
The pickups are 2 amazing sounding Gibson mini humbuckers which are made to the original 1969 specification. They have the power of old a PAF but a lot more clarity and sparkle. These make this guitar hugely versatile as it can provide crunchy power cords to jangle Brit pop. All the Classic Thin Lizzy Rhythm and solo’s played by Scot Gorham in their heyday was played on a Les Paul Deluxe. The beauty of the Les Paul Deluxe is that it sit perfectly in a band situation especially if the other guitarist is using a Les Paul. This guitar has very slight buckle rash on the rear and has no dents or scratches and is as close to a new guitar as possible.
This limited edition was made with care and with the full specifications of the original 1969 models. Gibson also slightly aged some of the inlays so giving the guitar a fully vintage look. This guitar does not have any of the tone robbing routing or dubious woods that Gibson now seems to be using. So with this guitar you will be getting a properly made Les Paul Deluxe with its original unmarked Brown Gibson case with pink lining.
